Hey everyone---

Kimberly Fisk got her first review on her debut romance, Lake Magic. Those of you who are regulars know that Kim is a great friend who has the toughest job in the world--she tries to keep me organized and on track. So let's all congratulate her on this great success and get her to post the review here on the blog.

Woo hoo Kim!!! Way to go.

Awesome! I think Kim's been remarkably quiet about her book. Hopefully, before release date, we'll hear more about, say, the plot, when we should rush out and purchase (although I'm a preorderer). Can't wait to hear specifics on how awesome it is as I'm sure it's positive.

YAY !!!!!!!!!!! Congrats Kim! Please post the review for us to share in your joy. You know you always fussed (how's that for a real southern word, HA) at Kristin for being too modest about her success. You'd call her out on it more than anyone. Well, paybacks are a bee-otch. =)

I am so happy for you!

Oh my gosh. This is what happens when I'm away from the office! Kristin you are too kind and so incredibly generous. (And by all means, let's keep up the illusion I have the world's toughest job. HA. Like anyone would ever believe that!!)

So here's the story. I've been a tad...obsessive about pre-ordering my book. Starting to worry that hubby might question a three page credit card statement with only the words Amazon and B&N on it, I decided to broaden my addiction and grace Borders. And there, next to my book was a review. My first review!! After reading it like five times just to make sure the reviewer was talking about *my* book, I picked up the phone and called my mom (who told me she wished she was here and could give me a hug. Less than five minutes later, guess who was at my house, giving me a hug?!?!). Right after I called my mom, I called Kristin. And then all my sisters and girlfriends. Being able to share the review with my friends and family was even better than receiving it. And now, I get to share it with my wonderful fellow Fireflies. Sometimes life can be so utterly perfect. I am truly blessed.
Kim

"Debut Kimberly Fisk really delivers -- an emotional story about a woman who's husband is killed in a car accident, now tries to pull the pieces of her life back together. Jenny feels like nothing in her life is going right -- her business, family relationships all seem to be floundering. In walks Jared who puts her to the test in every way imaginable. This book will make you think, laugh & cry -- great characters, great secondary story line, great book!"

Kim,

Haven't posted in awhile, but I wanted to pop in to say congrats and I can't wait to read your first book! Needless to say, "Winter Garden" is also on my wish list for the next few month. I'll be going to Amazon, Borders and Barnes and Noble. (-;

That's wonderful. Can we say we knew you when? :)

I only preorder my books a month in advance (any earlier and I tend to buy duplicate copies). As for credit card bills with only Amazon and B&N, my husband's used to that. hee Can't wait!

That is the cutest story that your mom came by.

Kim, what a wonderful review! I'm so excited for you and this book. And how wonderful you were able to share your moment with your mom. :)

I generally try to preorder a month in advance like April, but I'm horrible at remembering which books come out when so I often make "impulse buys" at the local B&N or Borders. My husband loves that! LOL

I'm really looking forward to your book!

Kim, I am so proud of you! I have traveled this journey with you for over 12 years (Can you believe it?)through the good and the bad, the laughter and the tears. Seeing the cover with your name on it was just the coolest thing! I have already pre-ordered but I cannot wait to go to your first booksigning I can't think of anyone who deserves this more for your perseverance through more stress than any woman should go through. There is no one who is prouder of you than I am. I am so fortunate to consider you friend. This is an exciting time in your life. Savor it!

Kim-- Big, big smiles and congrats! I now am in the middle of an arduous task called reading All my mom's old books. Marylin Harris and Judith McNaught are authors I'm loving to read. The task is, figure out whether to reccomend the books to Mom or just give them to the library. So I'm not reading a bunch of new ones now. I decided NOT to recommend Silent Witness, by Richard North Patterson. Too bad, it was mostly a good book with a couple of grisly details

I wanted to let you all Know...(drumroll please)...
I'm finally in a relationship :)

It's a little long distance, with him being in the Coast Guard in California and me being in NJ, but oh well. Maybe it'll work out. Maybe it'll finally work out. (wistful sigh)

so happy for you Kim I have to put your book on my wishlist. Along with a Pink Snuggie.

My sister turned 21 on Sat and I got to celebrate with her. I must say she was a very responsible drinker :) Went to a fun club for a Halloween Party. She loved it. Also had a really, really good drink at Olive Garden.

Well I just had to check in with you guys. I'm off to get my parents' anniversary gift.

Oh, one more thing- Dad got a convertible! An itsy-bitsy, teeny weeny yellow Chrysler Crossfire! So, so much fun to ride in :) Come on over guys :) Oh, that's right, there's no back seat. Oh well.

Later,
Michelle

I only hope this turns out worthy of telling... but we believe in romance, right? I mean, Kristin and Kim, that's what your career is all about :)

I "met" him through a mutual friend at church. His name is Pat, and he's awesomely sweet, in that awesome-sweet-guy kind of way. I mean, what the heck can be more romantic than the Coast Guard? Now, on the down side of this, he lives 3,000 miles away. Tiny detail. He lives close to you, Kristin, so I can come see you :)

So you see, it's new, and I don't want to jump the gun, but I'll keep you all updated.

Can't wait to hear more as the relationship progresses, Michelle. A strong relationship will always overcome obstacles. Both parties are more willing to try. A friend of mine is in a relatively new relationship and it's nice to see things go well (especially as an old married).

Anyone who is a friend of mine on Facebook knows that, as of last Wednesday, I have a 2 year old. :) So, that is the big news in our house. She also learned to climb out of her crib which has made things interesting. We can drop it down one more level and after that, we'll have to look into a bed. Just one more sign we don't have a baby anymore. *sniff*

Little Miss is TWO?!?! Wow, April, how time flies. (The same thing I think whenever I look at my kids!!)

I'm sorry I missed the post on FB--but ever since they reformatted, I seem to miss all of my friend's posts!
