Well, I'll travel up to 2 hours to see an author (went to Richmond to see Susan Elizabeth Phillips), but that's a bit too far for me. Bummer.

Ok, I have some good and some bad news related to this blog post.

The bad news is I am not gonna make it to any of the tour dates. Well... you probably never expected me to, since I'm in Belgium anyway. So the only thing that really counts is...

The good news: I got a mail today from my online bookstore, which states that the Barbara Delinsky books are gonna have to be backordered, so it'll take longer to send them, BUT... they've sent out my copy of "True Colors" already!!! Yay!!!

Ok, now the REAL bad news. I have 505 pages to go in my book that I just started. I tend to never leave a book unfinished, so I'm in BIG trouble, cuz I wanna start reading "True Colors"... hmmm... how about yesterday? lol.

Anyway... if you don't hear from me for the next few days, you know where I'm at. NOT in Washington, but devouring a brand new book. Kristin, start trembling, cuz when I'm done I'm gonna give you my unbiased and very critical review. ;)

Love,
Leen

Kristin,

The book was fantastic! I read it in two days. My name is Irish and I met you at the Liberty Bay Book Store at your launch. You said to remind you that my husband and I had just gotten back from Japan. I am reading (listening) Between Sisters and I have a question about it. Can you email me at [email protected]? Thank you!

Okay, I stayed up (as we used to say when I lived in Maine) WICKED late to finish True Colors last night. It was truly incredible and I loved the story. I am now dying to talk about it. LOL

This is the type of book that when you are away from it, you are thinking about it and when you near the end, you hate to see your time with these people be over.

April, I'm so jealous you got to go to a SEPPIE signing. How fun!!

Lynn, that's so funny you should mention "wicked late." I recently finished a book where the author used wicked a ton and guess what? She's from Maine! LOL I was wondering if it was a regional saying. Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you--in a previous post you said you were going to go and make your favorite dinner. Can I ask what you made? (I'm always on the lookout for new recipes!!)

Leen, it would be so fun if you were in the states and could make a signing. Has your copy of True Colors arrived?

Michelle, Naomi, Kari, and Tiffany--I'm hard at work convincing Kristin she needs to sign all over the U.S. I'd have to travel with her, of course, as her assistant. That's only fair, right?!? LOL

Lisa, I SOOO hope you've convinced your boss!! Do keep us posted!

Welcome to new Fireflies Jacqueline, Emily, and Tiffany. (I hope I didn't forget anyone).

Kim
P.S. I snapped a few pictures at one of Kristin's signings. I'll try and get them up in the next couple of days.

Kim,

I got my book more than a week ago, but we were kept so busy at school that I didn't get to finish the other book I was reading until today. Right after this blog comment, I'm going to bed and I hope to at least read a few pages in "True colors" before I fall asleep. Give me about a week or so (sounds long and I'm not even a slow reader, but I'll still be rather busy with other things too) and I'll be able to let you know how much I enjoyed it.

I'm definitely looking forward to see those pictures. I always love taking them myself, but I just as much enjoy seeing other people's photo's. As they say: a picture says more than a thousand words. Then again... some people (like Kristin) can draw such a perfect picture with words that I don't always agree with that saying.

And talking about words... we had a national dictation contest here today, which I've entered almost every year since it started and once again I won a prize. I came out first at my local preliminary. Since I was rather ill prepared (due to being so busy, again), I didn't expect to win at all and I certainly didn't have the feeling I did a good job, but I guess I just have some kinda language instinct that helps me anyway. ;)

Other than that: I watched a movie (on dvd) today for the first time in a very long time and I really liked it. For those of you who might not have seen it yet, I can definitely recommend "The pursuit of happiness" with Will Smith and his son in it. Heck... it gave me an advance start on the crying I'll do when I'm reading "True colors", so what more should I need?

Oh and Kristin... I see a real big gap in your tour schedule, so I'm expecting a new post now. ;)

As for me ever making it to the US for a signing: if I'm in the neighbourhood, I'll certainly come visit, but I'm definitely going for the "meet your favourite author at the airport" thing too. Hey, I'm always looking for Garth Brooks in the business class section of my plane too... lol.

Love,
Leen

SEP came to Richmond so a friend and I traveled 2 hours to see her. I met her briefly at RWA in 2000, but I've been on her bulletin board since it was up and running. I met her again at RWA (Dallas), too.

Wicked, I believe, is a New England thing. It took me 5 years to rid myself of saying it after I moved out of Massachusetts. SO hard, but everyone made fun of me in Connecticut (which is only like a couple of hours away). They do still say it in northern Connecticut where my relatives live, but we lived closer to NYC.

A friend of mine read True Colors and Firefly Lane last week. They are her first Kristin Hannah books, but she has more. I believe she has Magic Hour and I bought her Once in Every Lifetime and If You Believe. She cried a lot so she has to take a break. ;)

I totally wanted to go to a booksigning tonight and so many people recommended it, but after the long weekend and bowling starting up this week, I should spend a night home. Oh, well, maybe next time.

Can't wait to see the photos, Kim!

Kim,

I looked at my previous posts (most of them) but I can't figure out what dinner I was referring to, or what post that was. I think it would be *great* if we had a recipe section. I do have a meal I love, make for company, make for dinners to take to people who have had babies or surgery, and the leftovers are even better!

I'm amazed that I don't weigh 875 pounds because I love to cook ;-)

Lynn, I goofed (such a HUGE surprise! LOL) It was Lisa who posted about cooking her favorite dinner. Got my "L" Fireflies confused. :( And may I say great minds think alike--Kristin and I have been discussing having a recipe section. I'm sure one of her reasons is she's sick of me asking "What are you cooking for dinner?" ha ha ha ha

Dear April---

Two hours for an author is a good far bit. I would drive forever to meet JK Rowling or Stephen King. Other than that, honestly, I'll go about a half an hour. So believe me, you're more than generous. Maybe sometime I'll get to your neck of the woods. I hope so. And tho I'm not going to DC, I'll probably be in nashville next summer. Maybe we'll see each other again there...

Oh, I bowl in a beer league every Thursdays in a Spring and Fall season. I'm so not good. I bowl an average of 85 points or so a game, but I have a huge handicap which helps. Little Miss does not go. I heard the Easter Bunny (Grandma) bought her a kiddie bowling set this year though. When she's ready, I also have a 6 lb Eeyore Bowling Ball she can use. The boy has golf on weekends so I get Thursday bowling.

I read Fireflies. I could not put it down. To be truthful the book I have recommended to all my friend.

Why I was waiting for True Colors to come out, I went and read Between Sister. It was a heart breaker for me. I loved and cried toward the end when the family discovered each other all over again, the memories lost and the love that brought the whole family back together again. Reminded. me of my Mom and her sister

Kristin,

From now on, I'll be carrying one of your paperbacks in my suitcase everywhere I go just to pester you, cuz I'm gonna take you up to this. You can write "Leen, you're such a nuisance" in my book for all I care, as long as I can take a picture (my camera is always with me, so that's no problem) to prove that I met you. Oh, and I hope Ben tags along too. See my other post (still gotta write it, but it's already in my head) for that. :)
